The Latin American alphabets of the Indian poet are translated

Antananarivo, [Madagascar] June 27 (ANI): The Alphabets of Latin America, a collection of poems written by Indian poet-diplomat Abhay K., which paints a poetic portrait of Latin America, has been translated and published in Italian.

The book was translated into Italian by renowned Italian translator Angela D’Ambra and published by Rome-based publisher Edizioni Efesto.

The book contains 108 poems on various places, monuments, personalities, flora and fauna, festivals, cuisine, landscapes, mythologies of Latin America, listed alphabetically from A to Z.

Pulitzer Prize winner Forest Gander for poetry writes of the book: “Latin American alphabets are heartily strong. Abhay K. has a great sense of lineation, underestimation, memorable and very peculiar images and structure of manuscripts. I’m also moved by how he can subtly use the elements of a place – Tenochtitlan’s dreamlike vision (which was founded on a dreamlike vision) or the Borgesian paradox of seeking Borges and finding mirrored reflections of oneself. “” I love the way this alphabet works and oscillates between shorter and longer poems, constantly refreshing our rhythms … It is a very original and exciting book – a book that opens the boundaries of time and time. space, which seems so necessary now in this era of nationalist entrenchment and paranoia, “he added.

The Italian edition of the book carries a preface by Italian author David Tozzo.

Abhay K. is the author of ten poetry collections, the most recent of _The Magic of Madagascar_, and the publisher of the Bloomsbury Book of Great Indian Love Poems, CAPITALS, The Bloomsbury Anthology of Great Indian Poems and New Brazilian Poems.

His poems have been published in several literary journals, including Poetry Salzburg Review and Asian Literary Review. His “earthly hymn” has been translated into over 120 languages.

He received the 2013 SAARC Literary Award and was invited to record his poems at the Library of Congress in Washington DC in 2018. His next poem is titled _Monsoon_. (ANI)
