Qatar University (QU) held a ceremony in honor of the winners of the âUniversity Fasihâ poetry competition, held from September to October in cooperation between the Department of Culture and Arts of the Department of Student Activities and the Department of Arabic Language and Literature. at the College of Arts and Sciences.
The competition, sponsored by the Qatar Islamic Bank, had the theme * International Day of Peace.
The first place was won by Hamna Noor al-Haq (College of Medicine) for his poem * O Caller of Peace.
Second place went to Mohamed Najeeb al-Sayed (College of Sharia and Islamic Studies) for his poem * The Memory of Raya Faha.
Third place was won by Saud al-Shammari (College of Engineering) for his poem * In my palm is an olive fist.
The Vice President of Student Affairs, Dr Eman Mostafawi, honored the winners and the jury.
In a statement, the Assistant Vice President for Student Life and Services, Professor Mohamed Diab, stressed that attention to culture, arts and heritage is essential to nurture a distinguished generation, aware and proud of culture and identity, and possessing artistic and cultural tools with which to interact. cultures of the world in a positive way.
The Director of the Department of Student Activities, Abdullah al-Mulla, expressed his pride in the contributions of the students who express their concept of peace.
