Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Wednesday that the Delhi Shopping Festival will be held from January 28 to February 26 and will be the first-ever city-wide mega shopping festival.
Ahead of the festival, the government will launch a beautification campaign in Delhi. It is planned to use street art to showcase the languid styles of arts, showcasing the culture of Delhi. The government also plans to install environment-friendly facilities and select parks, monuments, sky bridges, buildings, metro and railway stations, airport, ISBT, schools , colleges that will be enlightened.
Delhi will be divided into north, south, east, west and central zones to host different components of the shopping festival, an official statement said, adding on the basis of USP, brand awareness, shopping genres, the number of stores, GST collection, space, footfall, connectivity and cleanliness, the government will further limit to 15 iconic markets and 10 malls in all areas to get this festival off the ground. Five exhibitions on five themes in five zones will be organized in Delhi as part of the Shopping Festival.
