Members of the Dublin Airport Police and Fire Department have come together to record a Christmas charity single.
heaa’s charity of the year program is run by the staff, who select the charities that benefit from it each year and generate a significant amount of money through their fundraising activities.
Funds deposited at Dublin Airport cash pick-up points also support selected charities for the year. daa itself also makes a significant direct contribution to the charity fund every year.
Typically, daa staff rode bikes, ran marathons, held monster raffles, baked cakes, held book sales, wore their Christmas sweater to work, participated in quiz nights, race nights , raffles and a host of other events. However, due to Covid 19’s health and safety guidelines, staff really had to get creative when it came to fundraising ideas.
A few months ago, members of the Dublin Airport Police and Fire Department decided to tap into the talents hidden within the force to produce a rock song that will give everyone a much needed boost after a year and a half difficult.
Dublin Airport Police and Fire Department are proud to present; “The cylinders” with “Medicines”. The catchy, upbeat rock track will soon be available for download on Spotify, but for now you can enjoy it HERE.
Daa Charity President of the Year, Cathy Burke said; “Our charity program of the year has always held a special place for daa and our employees.
“I am very proud and continually surprised and delighted with the constant passion and ingenuity shown in raising funds for our charities. The song and video show a lighter side of the serious work of the Dublin Airport Police and Fire Department and I would like to say a big thank you to the team for their wonderful and entertaining efforts.
“I really hope people support this alternative Christmas single and it inspires their generosity to dig deep and support this musical treat.”
