Author Robert Harris while viewing his new book In the Mold

A best-selling author is about to talk about his latest thriller during a visit to Flintshire.

Robert Harris is the latest in a series of authors to visit Mold, where he will join The Bookshop at Mold Library next month, to talk about his new book, act of forgetting.

Robert is the author of 14 best-selling novels: Cicero’s Trilogy – Imperium, Lustrum and DictatorCountry, Enigma, Archangel, Pompeii, The ghost, The Fear Index, An officer and a spywhich won four awards including the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction, Conclave, Munich, The second sleep and V2.

Munich: the brink of war was recently a Netflix movie and The Fear Index was a Sky original miniseries. His work has been translated into 40 languages ​​and he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. He lives in West Berkshire with his wife, Gill Hornby.

Set in 1660, act of forgetting tells the story of Colonel Edward Whalley and his son-in-law, Colonel William Goffe, who are wanted for the murder of Charles I. Under the provisions of the act of oblivion, they were convicted in absentia of high treason.

In London, Richard Nayler, secretary of the regicide committee of the Privy Council, is responsible for tracking down the fugitives. He will stop at nothing until both men are brought to justice. A reward hangs over their heads – for their capture, dead or alive.
